Academic OB/GYN Podcast Episode 38 – The Endometriosis Podcast Launch

Hi there,
Thanks so much for making this podcast available to the general population. I am a stage 4 endo patient who has just gone through 2 laparoscopic surgeries, one of which involved a wedge resection of most of my left ovary that had a recurring cyst inside. My OBGYN has been very aggressive in treating my endo, which was found on my bowels, bladder, ovaries, uterus, cul de sac, stomach lining, etc. My OBGYN who performed the laparoscopy said that my endo was so extensive that he opted to put me on lupron and then aromatase inhibitor (I could only handle 3 months of lupron) to try and reduce adhesions. It worked in that my endo reduced by about 80% up on second look laparoscopy, but as I said, the cyst had come back. I am now trying to get pregnant, but struggling with continuous pain. I am constantly looking for peer reviewed articles on endo and am very hesitant to read / follow any information on endo that isn’t endorsed or reviewed by a scientist or doctor. All this to say, thank you for taking the time to discuss these important issues in lay terms. Also, I contacted Juneau to participate in the DNA test because I want to help increase/improve endo research. Thanks for that info, and I hope you continue the podcast!
